Our impact

Numbers matter. So do the lives behind them.

PCRF reports impact across direct care, medical missions, sponsorship, treatment abroad and emergency response. Together, these figures show both the scale of current need and the breadth of the work supporting children.

Beyond a single metric

Impact happens at several levels.

A completed procedure is one outcome. So is a child reaching a specialist, a local clinician gaining new expertise, a family receiving sustained support or a hospital gaining the equipment and infrastructure needed to keep providing care.

PCRF’s model combines individual treatment with broader investments in local healthcare capacity. That means impact can be immediate—such as a surgery or medical evacuation—and structural, through training, equipment and specialized departments.

Direct care matters most when it also helps create stronger pathways to care for the children who come next.

Impact approach
How impact takes shape

From access to long-term capacity.

Three layers help explain what the numbers represent.

01

Care delivered

Consultations, surgeries, treatment, emergency care and medical referrals connect children with services they need now.

02

Families supported

Sponsorship and humanitarian programs help address the wider needs surrounding children during crisis, treatment and recovery.

03

Capacity strengthened

Medical missions, training, equipment and infrastructure projects help local healthcare teams expand what can be provided locally.

Long-term investment

Building care beyond the emergency.

PCRF’s published history includes investments in pediatric cancer departments, intensive care and cardiology services, alongside medical equipment and other infrastructure projects.

These initiatives are designed to reduce gaps in local access and strengthen the ability of healthcare systems to treat children closer to home.
