What we do

Care that reaches children wherever it’s needed.

PCRF connects direct medical care, specialist treatment, humanitarian support and longer-term health-system investment so children can receive the right kind of help at the right time.

Programs

Four connected paths to care.

Some children need a specialist at a local hospital. Others need treatment abroad, emergency supplies or sustained support after crisis. PCRF’s programs are designed around those different needs.

PCRF medical missions
Medical care

Medical Missions

PCRF organizes volunteer medical teams that bring specialized expertise to hospitals across the region. These missions help children access consultations, procedures and surgeries that may otherwise be difficult to obtain locally.

The model also supports local capacity: visiting specialists work alongside local clinicians, sharing techniques and experience while helping hospitals expand the care they can provide after a mission ends.

Treatment abroad
Referral care

Treatment Abroad

When a child needs highly specialized care that cannot be provided locally, PCRF helps coordinate treatment abroad. The program connects patients with hospitals and medical teams able to provide the required procedure or rehabilitation.

Support can involve medical coordination, travel logistics and the practical needs surrounding a child’s treatment journey, helping families navigate an extraordinarily difficult period.

  • Medical evacuation
  • Hospital coordination
  • Continuity of care

Humanitarian Relief

Medical care is only part of what children and families may need during crisis. PCRF’s humanitarian work responds with essential supplies, medications, equipment and practical assistance while also supporting institutions that serve children.

The organization has also invested in health infrastructure and ongoing humanitarian programs intended to address gaps in access to care, including support for vulnerable children and families with sustained needs.

Urgent response

Gaza Relief & Recovery

PCRF’s response in Gaza combines immediate medical and humanitarian assistance with longer-term recovery work. Its recent activities have included medical points, field hospitals, medical teams and support for displaced families.

As needs evolve, the focus extends beyond emergency response toward restoring specialized services, rebuilding health infrastructure and strengthening local medical capacity for children who will need sustained care.

  • Relief for families
  • Specialist services

One continuum of care

Different programs. One purpose.

The strongest response is not one-size-fits-all. PCRF’s work spans immediate intervention, specialist treatment and the systems children rely on for ongoing care.

01

Respond to urgent need

Deliver care and practical support where children and families face immediate medical or humanitarian needs.

02

Connect specialist care

Bring expertise to local hospitals or coordinate treatment elsewhere when advanced care is unavailable nearby.

03

Strengthen what remains

Support local medical capacity, infrastructure and programs that can continue serving children over the long term.
